Down them all, and you'll win the mission. Sam's journey begins as he flees Osgiliath with Frodo and Gollum. Your path in this level is fairly straightforward; head across the courtyard and up the stairs. Eliminate the Orcs in your path, and the wall will explode inward, allowing you to continue. Follow Gollum up the rubble, and a Nazgul will appear, along with a timer. Whenever Frodo is out in the open, the timer ticks down. Find him some cover, and your time returns to normal.
Thus, your goal is to move quickly, dispatching enemies only when necessary. When the Nazgul riding a Fell Beast appears, he becomes your main concern--find cover quickly, or Frodo will fall. Continue across the rooftop and down the ladder to the right on the other side. Proceed outside, and jog through the carnage and up the stairs into the building across the way. Climb the rubble once again, and imagine that the Orcs have come between you and second breakfast to aid your fury.
Head outside and you'll hit a checkpoint. Climb the ladder, and you'll see the reason that you were given a checkpoint--the Nazgul has returned. Speed is of the essence. Sprint across the roof and into the tower. Let the timer count back to zero, and eliminate any enemies within reach before heading back out and sprinting the rest of the way across the roof. Descend the ladder, and you'll find respite from the Nazgul once more. Climb the stairs, and send the bell tumbling down for a double-whammy--dead Orcs and a newly-created exit.
Head through it, and the Nazgul is back again. Sprint across the roof for your toughest challenge yet--the path across is riddled with Orcs, and isn't as straight as the previous two.
Make your way to the enclosed area across the roof and to the left, and let the timer count back down to zero. This next run is a long one; sprint out the other side of the enclosure, and continue pushing toward the next safe area, ignoring baddies whenever possible. Descend both ladders, and you'll find yourself in the city's sewers. Keep moving forward, eliminating Orcs as they come at you. After a short while, you'll meet a decidedly anti-social Orc, carrying a rather large hammer.
Take his friends out before you make him mad if possible, as he's tough enough for our little Hobbits on his own. Parry his blows, then pummel him with Fierce attacks until he starts taking damage, then switch to Speed attacks and combos to take him out before he can regain his balance and swing that hammer again.
Once he's down, drink up and use the winch to lower the gate. Head through and out into the exterior of Osgiliath. As you enter this level, Frodo will be captured, and it's now Sam's job to find him. This level is a bit of a maze, so follow along closely. Follow the spider along to the left until you reach a dead end. Kill the spiders here. Your killing move will come in very handy in this level, as the spiders tend to get knocked on their back quite easily.
After these spiders are dead, head back out, and this time head to the right. Follow this path around to the left, until you see a mass of tiny spiders.
Walk past them to the right, and continue on until the path splits again. Make a left u-turn toward the next mass of spiders.
Quickly run around the spiders for a full health potion. Torches can be used to clear webs and hordes of spiders. Head back out and around to the left, and you'll see yet another bunch of arachnids. You'll be assaulted once again, and the path will come to a T. Head left to find an Orc fighting off two spiders. Kill all three and turn around, following the path to the right this time. Another dead end, causing Sam to complain. Backtrack to the mass of spiders, and this time head toward the light, to the left.
You'll come to two torches, one on either side of a black mass of spiders completely covering the ground. Pull an Indiana Jones and make them disperse by throwing a torch at them. Run through them, and you'll come to a seeming dead-end. Put the attacking spiders out of their misery, and then toss the torch at the web blocking your way. Pass through, and you'll come upon several Orcs commiserating. Use the fire all around this area to quickly dispatch them, then continue on through the only other tunnel.
You'll come upon mixtures of Orcs and spiders. Continue to use fire to your advantage, and keep moving forward. When your perspective changes, you'll see that you have two choices--continuing onward toward the bottom of the screen, or taking a turn to the left past the torch.
Take the way of the torch, and you'll see archers across a chasm--eliminate them to save yourself some trouble later on, then continue down the other path. It's another Orc party, and again you're provided with implements of fire to aid you. Instead, however, head up the small path to the right.
After taking out a couple of evildoers, you'll see a nice stash of boulders that you can drop on the Orcs below. Do so, and continue on. You'll come to a bridge, get your first glimpse of Shelob, and be rewarded with a checkpoint. Keep moving, and after eliminating some more arachnids, you'll come to the scene shown in the picture--an incredibly large mass of tiny spiders.
Use the torches to create a path, and run through them. This next area is a bit tricky; you'll need to toss a torch into the web at the far end of the room, then skirt around the spiders to the left to make it through.
Ahead are--you guessed it: more spiders. You'll have a choice between going left or right and up, either way through spiders. Begin by going to the right. Toss the torch at the far end toward the web, and head back down. Make your way past the first mass of spiders, and be prepared to parry a lot of incoming arrows. Once you've killed the archers, step through the second and third masses of spiders. Follow the tunnel to another checkpoint. Prepare yourself before stepping out into the open, as you're about to get up close and personal with Shelob.
As is the case with most boss characters in Return of the King, be ready to do a lot of parrying. You won't have much success with your fierce attack against Shelob, so parry until you get an opening while she's close, then open up with speed attacks. Once you've hit her a few times, Shelob will run away and send in a few of her minions. Dispatch them, and as soon as the last one is down, run away from where Shelob is waiting--she'll jump down and try to crush you under her considerable weight.
Her children will come at you in increasing numbers each time, so you'll want to take them out quickly--one fierce attack to knock them over, then a killing move to finish them.
After you repeat this cycle several times, you'll deal Shelob a particularly nasty wound, and she'll head for the hills. Some Orcs will come take Frodo away, and the mission will end.
This is a fun level, in which our little Hero Samwise Gamgee takes on eighty Orcs that lie between him and his master, Frodo. If at any time you find yourself overwhelmed, use your special ability to cloak yourself and regroup. While cloaked, you can use your killing move to attempt to backstab an enemy, as well. As you begin, you'll be crouched in hiding as a group of enemies talks amongst themselves.
Draw a few toward you with throwing knives, then tip the flaming coals in their path for some help. After you've dispatched the ground-level crew, Sam will complain that he can't find the way up, even though it's glowing at him. Use the winch to lower the ramp, and continue upward. Now that's a brawl. You'll come to a courtyard--toss the fiery spear, then charge down the stairs, killing everything at the foot of the stairs.
You'll note that everyone's enjoying a nice old-fashioned brawl, so if you're not in a blood lusting mood, don't continue charging ahead just yet.
Tiptoe around, and use the flaming coals scattered about, as well as your throwing knives, to aid you in your strikes. Clear out this courtyard, noting that if you release the winch holding up the ramp quickly, you can garner an easy perfect kill as everyone fighting underneath it is crushed.
Head into and clear the other courtyard before continuing up the ramp, as you're likely not up to the required number of kills just yet. You'll want to avoid getting caught in the middle of the melee at all costs, however.
Once you've reached your kill goal, head up the ramp in the main courtyard, then up the ladder to the roof. Take out the thugs, then drop the barrels on the lower-level quarrelers for another perfect kill. Talk about a perfect shot. Head up the next ramp, and the remaining defenders will flee to the tower. They've massed in the center of the bridge, incidentally right underneath the location where a troll-sized crossbow is aimed. How quaint. Take down the crossbow's hammer-wielding guard, and launch its payload.
Advance into the tower for a checkpoint. It's Frodo! Unfortunately, he's guarded by an Orc on some sort of high-octane version of speed. Fight him for a little while, and you'll realize this isn't going anywhere.
In an homage to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, use the weaponry surrounding you and start tossing spears at him, until he falls. Tend to Frodo, and the mission will end. For the first time, you'll take control of the ring-bearer, Frodo Baggins, as he attempts to destroy the One Ring once and for all at the Crack of Mount Doom.
Unfortunately, Gollum has other plans. As we rejoin our Heroes, Gollum has just stolen the ring from Frodo. Let's get it back. This is an exceptionally short level, but it's a bit tricky, as well. Gollum takes back his precious. Gollum is wearing the One Ring, so he cannot be harmed by Frodo or Sam.
Thankfully, you're in Mount Doom, so if we can knock Gollum and his precious off solid ground and into the fires, you can kill two birds with one stone. Since Gollum can't be harmed, parry his blows and work him toward the edge, then either hit him with a fierce or physical attack when he's not ready, or wait for Sam to do the same.
Once he loses his balance , hit him hard again, and he'll fall, hanging on by his hands. Use your killing move to knock him off. He'll find a way back up, but he'll be damaged. Potions will begin to drop from the ceiling, as well. Simply repeat the process a few times, and finally Gollum, and the ring, will be destroyed.
Congratulations--you've beaten the game. After completing the game, several bonus items will unlock--a couple of DVD-style extras, cheat codes, playable Heroes, and an insanely-difficult level. After beating the game, you're able to play any of the previous levels as any member of the Fellowship, save Boromir--you get his brother Faramir instead.
We highly, highly recommend taking a level 10 character into the Palantir, unless you'd like a real challenge. If you have a friend handy, taking these levels in co-op mode will ease some of the pain. Saruman's Palantir consists of twenty waves of increasingly difficult enemies, in a small, misty area--with no Checkpoints.
And when we say 'increasingly difficult,' we mean 'this level is nearly impossible to beat. Use the ability right off the bat, and then let it recharge by letting the last enemy on each wave of attackers live and chase you around it's especially easy with archers, as they'll just stand where they are and keep launching arrows.
Hide behind the cover at the center of the level, and go get yourself a drink. Good luck--you will need it! The Palantir of Sauron level will unlock after you have raised one Hero from each Path to level ten or higher. Similar in form and feel to the first Palantir level, you'll face twenty waves of Sauron's minions. As with Saruman's Palantir, hold off on dispatching the last member of each wave to maximize your special ability. Start a mission, then press ESC to pause the game. If you're someone who just wants to get good with one or two combo moves then you may wish to look at the more universally useful moves, such as Final Judgment. This attack will do major damage to all surrounding enemies. If you're looking for a quick way to take out multiple unshielded enemies, then this is a good early selection.
Final Judgment, while it may have one more step than, say, Orc Bane, is an excellent move for quickly dispatching almost any single enemy in the game, and at least any standard enemy you can find.
This should be one of your first purchases, if not your very first, considering most players have surpassed Level 2 after their first mission. This is another ability that should be purchased as a Fellowship Upgrade as soon as you're able--it is indispensable when knocked down and surrounded. This combination will initially hurt, knock down, and strike an enemy a second time.
With Final Judgment you already have a move that will kill in three blows, and Warrior Bane will allow you to kill quite a few in only two.
If you have been looking for something a little quicker and easier to perform than Final Judgment, then this is definitely a good move to pick up. Being another one of those abilities that will simply increase your health, this is an easily recommended upgrade.
Since most moves that you have had so far don't work on shielded enemies, this can be an important early upgrade, as it will enable you to begin doing serious damage to shielded enemies. Shield Cleaver is similar to an upgraded version of Dark Deliverance, and will still target only one enemy.
The Bane of Sauron is effectively an upgraded version of Warrior Bane, and if that is a move that you make use of even occasionally, then this is a good upgrade to purchase, as it should be more effective at taking down stronger enemies, including the more powerful Uruk-Hai. A series of quick and powerful strikes that will take down one or more unshielded enemies.
If for no other reason than the fact that this is a relatively easy combo to simply stumble upon, let alone use purposefully to take down groups of enemies, this is an upgrade that is worth getting. Because of the huge boost that a character receives when they are in Perfect mode, to both their damage output and their scores, this is an upgrade that should be purchased for the Fellowship the very moment that it becomes available.
This is the final upgrade that will increase the health of an individual Hero, or of the entire Fellowship, and should be purchased as soon as it is available. The final combination designed to be targeted toward shielded enemies should be purchased the moment it becomes available. Swift Justice, like Helm's Hammer, is an upgrade that should be purchased as soon as you are able. Ranger Fury, as with all other Fierce-only moves, can be quite powerful, but charging it can take a short while.
Once you pump up the humans' special ability all the way you will be able to hit Perfect mode quite quickly, and this is the first step along that path. Aragorn and Faramir are already good bowmen, but with these arrows they will be able to take out a great many enemies with only one hit.
This is an upgraded version of Ranger Fury, and it should be purchased after every other ability available to you has been purchased. This will increase the damage of the ranged attack of your Human of choice even more. A most devastating attack that emits a ring of fireballs requires Wilderness Rage. This attack, an upgraded version of Wilderness Rage, is actually more useful than the previous ones, and should be considered after you make the Rivendell Arrows upgrade.
Increase damage and reach perfect mode even faster requires Gondorian Sword Master. This upgrade will allow Aragorn or Faramir to hit perfect mode almost immediately when using their special ability.
This upgrade should be purchased immediately for maximum health for Faramir and Aragorn. With all of the increases to the damage done by the fierce attack, it is about time to have an increase to the speed attack's damage.
If you plan on using the special move that is available to the Hobbits at all, then this upgrade is a definite must. This upgrade can be quite handy if you like to attack enemies once, then run away and hide and let them die.
This upgrade is a further version of the Poison Blade upgrade, and should be purchased after you obtain Poison Daggers. This is another upgrade that should be purchased as soon as possible for each Hobbit, as it will allow them to do damage over time with their ranged attacks. Again, this is an upgrade that is pretty much necessary if you intend to use the special ability of the Hobbits.
Morgul Daggers is an absolute must to upgrade to if you use your ranged attacks at all and we all do This is another one of those upgrades that you absolutely need to obtain if you intend to use Hobbits much at all. A most damaging poison cloud that continues to cause damage requires Cloud of Shadow. Cloud of Rage is an even stronger version of Cloud of Shadow, and is surprisingly useful; purchase it when it becomes available after all Fellowship upgrades have been obtained.
Allowing the Hobbits to take an even greater beating than before; this upgrade should be purchased the moment it is available. When used with the Elven Cloak, this ability allows the player to cause serious damage to an unsuspecting enemy. Gandalf's first fierce-only button attack is more useful than many others, and can be quite helpful when dealing with multiple enemies; purchase it as soon as it becomes available.
Since he never needs to notch an arrow, Gandalf's ranged attacks are some of the best ranged attacks available; upgrade them as soon as you can. As good as Gandalf's ranged attacks are, his shield almost makes him impenetrable. As with Fog of War, Wrath of Anor is a powerful fierce-only attack and can strike at multiple enemies at once. Continue upgrading Gandalf's ranged attacks with this edition; shortly he will be able to shoot through enemies.
A most devastating attack that creates a ring of flame that sets foes on fire requires Wrath of Anor. This fierce-only attack is most devastating, as not only does it affect multiple enemies, but it will also cause them damage over time, which can be quite helpful if you are in the process of being mobbed. The magic shield deflects enemies further and persists longer requires Wizard's Power.
One step away from the best shield upgrade possible, this should definitely be obtained as soon as you can. The magic shield knocks enemies to the ground and persists longer requires Power of the Palantir.
While the shield enhancement this provides is most excellent, obtain Light of the Valar first, then Enchantment of the Heavens, as the projectile passing through multiple enemies will be of more assistance, more often. This projectile of pure light passes through multiple foes, setting them aflame requires Light of the Forges. As much as the extra firepower provided by Power of the Istari is quite helpful, it is better to get your ranged attacks to affect as many enemies as possible first.
This upgrade should be purchased last once you reach Level 10; however it will prove of a huge assistance and enable your ranged and fierce attacks to be quite potent indeed. The first upgrade for Gimli alone, Dwarven Fury may not be very compelling early on, but once you continue down this upgrade path you can send out a ring of fireballs, which can be quite potent when you need the firepower.
Let's face it--Gimli is most certainly not the best ranged Hero, and even in close combat he simply isn't as capable as many of the others. Continuing along the vein of Dwarven Fury, Mountain Rage will begin to become more useful, and should be purchased as soon as it's available. There is one more upgrade to Gimli's ranged attacks, and both it and this one are needed just to allow him to do reasonable damage with ranged attacks.

Also used in entering codes. The white number by your character's face tells you how many more missiles you have.
Get a silver quiver to get 20 missiles. They are either lying around, or dropped by enemies. The max. D Pad: Used in entering codes. Control Stick: Move around. Walkthrough 1. Path of the King 1. Paths of the Dead At the start, walk the only path until you come to some thick blue mist.
When you enter this mist, you can only walk, not run. Keep going, as there are no enemies yet. After the mist, keep walking, until a cutscene shows a few specters going into a pile of bones. The enemies that come out are the easiest kind in the entire game. Just use speed attack, and your killing move to get rid of them all. Get the red potion when the bones are gone if you need it. Keep going, until you get o a short tunnel.
Go through it. But wait! A large stone blocks your path, and specters enter it. Don't use the pikes. It takes too long to throw them. Now would be a good time to test your ranged attack. After the rock shatters, go until you reach more mist. Near the end of the mist some specters plunge into the ground, and grave stones appear. You can still attack as usual, so go about your business.
When both of the stones are shattered, keep going out of the mist. Two archers appear on the bridge above you. Don't take them out! Instead, go right. Kill the four enemies that block you, and keep going. You are now on top of the bridge with the archers.
Take them out, and keep going, then bear left at the fork. At the next fork, go right into the peninsula. Get the shining stone, and kill all the enemies. Go back, and turn right. When 4 other enemies appear below you, stand next to the rock with the purple circle under it, and press Z.
It kills the 4 enemies. When 2 more appear, don't waste arrows on them. It's hard to aim just right down there. Backtrack to the first fork, and continue on the path you haven't gone on. Use fierce attack to break their shields, and then use it again to knock them down. Then use a killing move. Continue to the 2 enemies that were left over from pushing the rock over the ledge.
Use the same strategy, and continue through the tunnel. When you come to a large room, 3 enemies appear, 1 of them being shielded. After taking them out, continue through the room, and then through the tunnel. When you reach the drawbridge, go to the silver quiver by the drawbridge weather you need it or not.
When you get there, 3 archers appear on the above ledge. Stand back, and take them out with missiles, When they are gone, use the gate winch to lower the drawbridge. This takes about three turns of the winch. When the gate is down, go across quickly. Don't worry about your companions.
They automatically get across. Checkpoint As you progress through the mist, some enemies appear. After they are all disposed of, go straight through the tunnel. After all the pillars fall, get rid of all the enemies as you go, and continue through the mist. In the next room, get rid of the 2 enemies by the ladder, and climb. After you are on the ledge, another rock appears. After all the regular enemies are gone, a single enemy with a bar over his head appears.
We call these enemies champions. The bar is his health. Bosses sometimes have these bars. He should be no problem for you. Just keep using speed attack. Champions never fall down. After progressing through the winding path, you come to a very large statue, along with 4 enemies. After that, push the statue with Z. Go across the custom bridge, and go right. There is a hidden path. On the other side, 2 champions of the same type you fought before come out.
When they are gone, use the gate winch to open the gate. Don't worry about time. This one stays open for as long as you want it to. As you go back across the path, a harmless bunch of enemies attacks you. Fight your way out, and go through the gate.
Go through another twisting tunnel to see quite a sight for sore eyes. Stop staring, and progress to cross it. In the middle, 2 stones appear, trapping you.
You have to kill 35 enemies to progress. When you are done your little fun fest, the stone blocking you path shatters, and the end of the bridge is in sight. At the end is the end of the level. King of the Dead Boss: King of the Dead Hint: There is a silver quiver behind a rock on the south-west side of the arena, but don't get it unless you need it. After the cutscene, the King sinks into the ground, and comes up right in front of you.
He attacks with 3 hits when he's green, 4 when yellow, and 5 when red. Parry his attacks, and hit with as many fierce attacks as possible. If he sinks into the ground, a killing move while he's doing this gets some damage in, but not much.
After the first series of your attacks, he sinks into the ground, and summons 4 unshielded enemies. Defeat them with fully charged ranged attacks if you can.
Hint: If you are far enough away from him when he summons enemies, they will not come at you, giving you a perfect chance to hit them with missiles. You cannot damage him when there are other enemies on the field. Keep hitting him and defeating his enemies until he gets into the yellow range.
When you get him into the yellow range, it will show a cutscene with the King having a specter come out of him. After that, don't touch the control stick. When a really weird sounding noise comes up, and a circular cloud comes out at you, stay where you are.
This is called "The Wind of the Mountain". And, duh , it will damage you if you get hit. When one piece of the rock gets blown off, come away from your shelter, and hit him with as many fully charged missiles as possible.
If he calls up the wind again, get behind the rock and wait until another chunk gets blown off. Then, use range attacks again.
If he sinks into the ground, his meter is probably red , use a killing move on him, and proceed as before. When the meter goes out, a cutscene shows, and everything starts to come down.
Checkpoint Hint: This walkthrough will now stop specifying how many enemies are where, unless they are champions, or it is absolutely crucial. When everything is coming down, run like heck across the bridge. If the rocks catch you, you die. When you get through the tunnel, and come to the statue bridge, go across, but an enemy stone blocks your path.
Nothing will collapse until you have defeated all enemies. After everyone is gone, get through that tunnel, and up the hill. This climbing up the hill part might take a couple of tries, because the path is somewhat hidden by smoke.
Here is a somewhat helpful guide of the path: First, come straight in towards yourself, and the make a right. Keep on going, up a small hill, and you should then be able to make another right. B- Hint: This last right always seems farther up the hill than you would think, so if you die while trying, experiment, and you'll eventually get it. Another stone now appears, with some enemies, and 2 champions.
After that is cleared, keep going, until you come to some mist. This is very important: While walking through the mist, stay on the right from your perspective , and no rocks will come down on you. After the mist, you see your two buddies again, and a tunnel. Walk through the tunnel, and a huge rock come up. Then, a large group of enemies comes out, with a couple champions.
Hint: Ranged attacks help with this part. After they are gone, 3 more champions come. After all these are disposed of, the stone shatters, and it's the end of the level.
The Southern Gate Hint: Unless you are an extreme expert, don't attempt to take all of the enemies out. If you like lots of enemies, this level is for you. To activate the enemies, walk straight towards the gate. Oh boy. A cave troll leaps down from the gate wall, and roars. Immediately go back, then left to a pike.
Throw it at him. This gets him in one shot. After that, well, fight the heck out of there! There are 2 catapults to your left, and 1 to your right. Go to the 2 on the left, and fire them in any order. Get it and head back down this way. There is another vial here, but then these pillars here fall down. Go around them, beating dead soldiers, and remember to break the shields with fierce attacks. When you get through to the mist, walk through and beat the dead soldiers over by the bone ladder.
Go up the ladder to a very long battle. Dead soldiers spawn quickly, so destroy all of them, until one appears with a health meter over his head. This is a HERO soldier that takes a few more hits than normal creatures. Just keep wacking him until that meter at the top empties and he is defeated. Through the next passage, stop and kill two archers and two shielded soldiers, then go over and around the bridge. On the other side are two champion soldiers ready for killing, so come and do it.
They both drop health vials, and there is also a health vial inside the covey they came from. Now just turn the wheel, go back around and go through. If I was the head of EA, I'd say this would've been a great place to stick a checkpoint.
But I'm not the head of EA Games, and so, coincidentally, they didn't. Anyway, just go across the bridge. Halfway over two big rocks stop you from cro ssing. Dead soldiers pour out like milk out of a pitcher, so use your wits and kill them. Be sure to preserve your health long enough so that you can face the tough hero creatures that appear later. When you kill 35 soldiers, go over the rest of the bridge.
The Ents march to Isengard to wreak havoc on Saruman. And now the events set at motion at Helms Deep will be concl- uded. Isengard must be cleansed, and in the shade of Fangorn's trees the Uruk- hai will find no refuge. So, off with the blurb, in with the fun! Run off in this direction, fight a few Uruk-hai, and remember to use that fierce move to break shields!
Soon an Ent will come marching by, killing a few Uruk-hai. Head this way, kill some more of the Uruk-hai, and shoot out an archer in the tree. Shoot this explosive cart, a huge explosion kills a few Uruks. Shoot the archer up on the hill, then shoot a cart, that is as a matter of fact explosive as well!
It kills a few more Uruks, but that does not include some more archers on the bridge. Tip: If you have a hunger for XP, go around the bridge and fight a few more Uruk-hai that want to kill you. These huge bastards have no clue what they're stomping on, not even that they're stomping on ground, so watch where you're stepping here, because you just might get Ent footmarks on you.
If you're low on health, I'd suggest staying on the hill till seventy-five orcs are down. When they are, get out of there! Shoot the explosive cart to kill some more Uruk-hai, and keep this way until you get to some towers that start firing arrows. Some orcs immediately attack you, so kill them. Parry a stream of arrows, then target one of the carts under the towers with your ranged at- tack.
Fire it to destroy the tower. When all of them are blown up, then you just saved lots of health. Go across the bridge and kill the two shielded orcs.
Turn left for an elfstone tiny shiny whitey thingy for 1, xp. Go back down for more orcs for killing. There are also some archers here, so be sure to kill them. A ways down here you'll see an Ent having trouble breaking the dam. There is a hero creature here, be sure to kill it. This way there should be LOTS of orc archers. Kill the ones on your side, then shoot out the archers on the other side. More will soon replace them, so be quick. Shoot out all of the evil orcs you see, and be careful of the armed orcs that go immediately to attacking YOU, and not the Ent.
When there are currently no archers firing at the Ent, he will start pulling, which starts emptying the bar above the dam support. Keep shoot- ing out archers until the Ent gets enough time to break the dam support. Frodo has reasoned with Faramir that they must go to Mordor. As they gather their strength, Frodo and Sam prepare for their long escape out of the city. Run through the tunnel here to some orcs. Sam is a sturdy fighter, but wading into trouble isn't the way of the Hobbit.
Remember to use your Killing Move to kill them if an orc is down but not out. Go up the stairs and kill the archer and two more orcs. The wall crashes out and kills a few orcs. Go out again and use your knives to take out the archer. Go up and fight off a few more orcs.
Guess what happens now! A giant Nazgul on a dragon soars overhead and if you stay in the clear sunlight for too long, the Nazgul will grab Frodo and take him away, and the Ring is returned to Sauron, obviously ending in the destruc- tion of the world. We don't want that to happen, right? Tip: It doesn't matter if Frodo is undercover or not. Only Sam needs to hide for the meter to start dropping.
So let's get out of here. Kill a few orcs here if you want. Head to the stairs and wait for the Nazgul meter to lower down. Go up, kill a few archers, then head this way as a fireball destroys some orcs.
Kill two more orcs, then climb down the ladder to two more archers. Beat them, climb down, then do all you can to fight off these orcs. If you bought the Orc Bane for the fellowship, you can use it now, since it gets you into perfect mode immediately. Keep heading this way up to an archer. Do him some justice, then fight a few more orcs up here.
Go up the stairway and fight. There is another orc, and a few more other orcs. Beat them, and watch as the orc kills this soldier here. Have revenge on him and beat him to pieces. Do the same thing to the archer over here. Head outside. I'm starting to get restless. Kill the orc that attacks, then climb the long ladder up to the top. Be smart and forget about XP for now, just live through it.
Climb up the wooden bridge and dart to the left under cover. Use your throwing knives to take out a few archers and another orc that attacks. You can go back down and kill a few more orcs if you're interested in XP. When you've killed to your heart's content, head down the ladder over there. Climb down to more orcs and a stairway up to an orc and a giant bell.
Push it down so that it smashes a few orc brains :p as well as a giant wall. Head through and fight. Sam says you've done it, but you haven't quite yet. Kill the orcs, head up the ramp, and then run like hell over to the boarded area at the far end of this place here. Rest, then prepare yourself for another daring flight. From this boarded area, turn around, and run for the ramp.
Get over to cover, fight a few orcs go back and fight some if you want , then repeat. This time, there's a ladder that heads down to two more orcs and another ladder to the sewers. Here there are quite a few orcs, not to mention a HERO orc. To defeat this biggie, have him come here, parry his sword three times or sidestep if he smashes his hammer , then hit him with a few fierce attacks until his armor falls off.
Then you can just combo and speed attack him until he dies. Tip: An easier way to defeat the HERO orc is to turn on your special ability, sneak behind him and use your killing move to kill him immediately. Step outside and smell the fresh air.
But as they think they are being led there, Gollum is instead leading them to their death. The King of the Dead appears, and he must be forced to yield. So now, we have to fight him.
When he goes into the ground, he comes up again in front of you. Parry his three blows, then give him a few blows of your own. Keep this pattern for a few times until he appears at the far side of the chamber. He summons his dead soldiers for you to fight. Easy enough. Defeat them, then go to the same pattern as before.
Soon he starts howling in rage, then goes into the ground and appears in front of the statue. He shoots lots of wind, so stay by the cliff to make sure you don't get blown away. He shoots three blasts, so duck out between each blast and shoot an arrow at him. Soon he pops out of the ground and starts the same pattern as before, except he swings five times, so this time around, parry more than usual. When he goes into the ground again, soldiers come again, this time there are archers.
Shoot them down, then fight the king again, then get behind one of the bolders before he shoots the wind. Again, duck out in the pause and shoot an arrow at him. You can keep this path until all three of the rocks are destroyed, or until you defeat him. The caverns are collapsing! You've got to get out of there!
Run across the bridge and through this path to get past the main gate. The rocks stop falling, but only for a short time. Fight the dead soldiers here, then head out before the rocks come down. Don't let the rocks get you, or it's game over! Go this way and up to the giant rock.
Dead soldiers come and bother you, so defeat them. This time there are HERO soldiers there, so be sure to kill them. Run down this spiral here, and quickly go through the mist, then come here to a green health potion. Fight until you defeat these soldiers, or until you get killed. At the end of the strain of enemies comes 3 HERO soldiers!
Defeat all three of them, then walk through and breathe the fresh air. Yes, it's true, I could do this for a week without success. Now there is another way of dying. The new meter you see is an overrun meter. The more orcs that come up here, the more this meter fills, and when it fills completely, the city has been taken by orcs, and you need to restart.
You also have to knock down ladders that appear, because that's were the orcs come from. You can knock down ladders with the kick button. Ladders also appear here though. A ladder on your map is a red dot. Keep knocking down ladders and fighting orcs until a cutscene comes up. It shows some trolls coming with siege towers.
To take down the siege tower that pops up as a blue dot on your map , go up the stairs to the catapult and shoot it. When it reloads, do it again. Another siege engine pops up, but this time you can't use a catapult.
Instead, run over to the right wing of the castle and shoot him with your ranged attack. Remember to kick down ladders as you come across them. A third siege engine soon pops up on the other side, signified by the blue dot. Head to the catapult and fire it once.
A Nazgul appears, so shoot it before it kills one of the catapult men! It goes crashing down into the side of the tower, and wrecks it so that you can't pass. Shoot it again and head this way. Before you can do anything about it, a siege tower crashes into the wall of the city, and your overrun meter boosts extremely quickly. Run down and use one of the grappling hooks to get down to the lower level, then go to the one to the east end of the wall. Climb up the grappling hook, then go up the tower here and shoot the tower four times to bring it down.
As if that wasn't enough, now there is a battering ram about to knock down the wall! Head to the top of the tower and grab the seven elfstones for xp.
Head back down and fight some orcs if that's your will. Or, if you have bad health, head down the stairs and keep going until you see the orcs break down the wall. Sam, now determined to save Frodo, is willing to face up against this danger, even if it means death.
So, then, Master Samwise. You want to save Frodo? Suit yourself, since this will be a hard task. This first part of the level is a maze, and in it is an orc, two elfstones, and lots of spiders. To find the first elfstone, follow the wall to the right until you find it, then fight the spiders. A good combat move for them would be to use the Final Judgement. Sam rocks at that. When all of the spiders are dead, try to navigate your way around this maze. When you bump into a spider deal out Final Judgement, then make your way around again.
There are also lots of small spiders, so take one of the torches and make them scatter. Run across and use this next torch to burn through the web. Go up this way to an orc camp. You can either sneak around, or throw a torch there and fight all the orcs. It's your health, dude! Go through this arch here and fight a few MORE orcs. Throw a torch at the dead wrapped up body to bring it down and burn up the orcs and spiders. Keep this way to a tunnel to some more orcs.
But this time, take a more stealthy approach. Take the ramp to the right and fight the orcs up here. Step into the blue circle and press the action button to bring the rocks down on the orcs. Down here are some more spiders, though, so fight them, and walk through. Sam notices a giant spider under the overpass.
Sam must hurry. Head across and kill a few orcs and a few spiders. Throw the two torches at the spiders to move them out of the way. Throw a torch at the spiders to part them, then use the torch here to burn the webs.
Go around and walk through to meet up with a few spiders, and a few orcs. Beat them all, then throw a torch at the spiders to the right.
Beat some spiders, then throw the torch at the webs far away. Head back down and use the torches to get through. Halfway through, MORE of those damned orcs come to bother you! So, you know the drill. Well, cut their legs off and stick a blade through their eye. This rotten thing is incredibly hard!
Walk up to Shelob from the front she doesn't appear to pay any attention and do two Orc Hewers on her. When she walks forward to you, parry her three leg strikes, then do an Orc Hewer.
Continue fighting this way until Sam cuts off her leg. This is the sign for you to back away. Now, kill all the spiders before Shelob jumps back down. If you don't hurry, Shelob will jump down on you, not only hurting you, but also will scare the shit out of you. To prevent this from happening, move out of the way, then land an Orc Hewer on her. Soon, she reaches red mode, and she starts galloping around the room like mad, and then crawls up on the wall again.
Fight the spiders and then wait for Shelob to come down. Keep fighting her until she gives up. Sting starts glowing and orcs approach. Fortunately, the orcs reveal that he isn't dead; he's only been stunned.
Unfortunately, the orcs take him to Cirith Ungol, and now Sam has to make his way up there. Mount Doom draws steadily closer. Start by running forward towards the open gate. Gimli smells orc, and a troll immediately jumps down.
I suggest you take him down immediately, but it's not necessary. I'll tell you why later. To tell the truth I wish these orcs weren't so powerful! This is oneof those levels were you're bound to die a lot of times before you get it.
It happened to me! These orcs take the crowd method and get around you so you can't attack them, and you can't scatter them because they do not give you enough time to charge your Devastating attack! Ay ay ay! What are you to do? Well, I know that "where there's a will, there's a way.
Just keep hitting [] until you get over to one of the catapults and fire! It should tear down a bit of the wall. Parry yourself over to the other one and fire! It tears down the whole tower, allowing you to climb to the top of the gate. Huzzah and all that rubbish. Fire at the troll! That's what the last one will do. Once that's done, head up the ladder to some orcs and the troll. You know the story. Get them all six feet underground. Yes, and the mumakil that shows up afterwards.
You don't know how to kill them? How horrible. Just fire a fully charged ranged attack at each of the shields. Then, when all three are down, aim for the cart on the beast and let fly. Now what happens? If you're really desperate, keep killing until one of them drops a health potion.
Grab it and fight until you get the chance to turn the gate open. Tip: If you didn't kill the troll like I told you to, you can use the boiling oil to kill it. You'll also need to use it later, so keep this in mind. Use the boiling oil to get them dead. Get down and parry your way over to the door. If you need some more xp, go ahead and orc hunt, but be wary of your health. When you're finished, head out the door towards Minas Tirith.
The three hunters speed towards the Pelennor Fields, ready to fight for their lives. The orcs persist and give trouble to not only the soldiers, but the citizens as well. Gandalf must find and save as many as he can. You know, I've just noticed something. There's no such thing as an evil genius. People that smart should know enough to stay away from evil.
And with orcs, none of them even know anything except kill everything that moves and that is not ugly.
