I live in the block of Twana and get my mail a block north at the set of boxes. The whole winter it was never cleared or shoveled and we all took our chances trying to get to our mail boxes.
I knew it was an accident waiting to happen and even looked up some nontoxic ice melt recipes, but since it was thawing, thought it was no longer a problem. Today I went down hard-on the ice under the melt.
Not only soaked myself in the puddles, but I know I will be bruised and achey tomorrow. I checked tracking for - a medium sized box - and it says it's delivered. That was all what I expected. What I didn't expect was a personal phone call form someone at the Beaverdale post office telling me it was addressed and I'd have it today. It's the little touches like that, that make all the difference.
