Kinpin patch

It's only a matter of time before Steam's kingpin modified for other resolutions will be disabled. Anyone know how to disable the cd check on the original kingpin? With Monkey Harris Kingpin patch you just install the 2 files to your Kingpin folder then update the patch. I could do the same with Steam's version, but since for unknown reasons they disabled my Quake 2 resolution modification, I'm not exactly motivated to do so.
